The first HWPL Media Forum in SA

The first HWPL Media Forum in SA
Johannesburg, South Africa – On August 17, over 30 journalists, commissioning editors and news analysts gathered to share their views and ideas to understand their role in peace building. Under the theme of ‘The Role of the Media in peace building’, this was the very first Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) Media Forum on African soil which was held in collaboration with the national broadcaster, South African Broadcast Commission (SABC), more specifically SABC TV Religion.
With the example of fellow news broadcasters from across the globe who have undertaken the role of HWPL publicity ambassadors, the media representatives from both print and broadcast engaged in dialogue with one goal – reporting the work of peace accurately. Guest speakers included the Head of SABC TV Religion Ms. Yashika Sigh, news analyst Mr. Zanele Mashinini, and producer from iTV Ms. Aadila Amod who were joined by members of the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG).

During the course of this year, social hostility concerning religion increased significantly with terrorist groups such as misrepresented religious groups, causing a great concern for the protection of youth and women. Having joined Chairman of HWPL Mr. Man Hee Lee’s peace movement since the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit in 2014, Ms. Yashika Singh said, “I enjoyed the opportunity to engage with different media, both print and broadcast.
It is interesting to meet people that think the way that we do, that want to promote peace, to promote human values. I think it is not always easy to find those kind of journalists…” and added, “[Chairman Lee] has challenged people to start thinking differently and this is the first step to opening up dialogue.”
Following the speeches, participants listened to the HWPL representative who shared Mr. Lee’s message to the press and media of the world. This message powerfully stated that “The souls of the youth that have been sacrificed in wars are pleading. All creation is groaning,” and appealed, “Let us become messengers of peace, achieve world peace and the cessation of wars, and leave it as a legacy for future generations.”
On the day, Mr. Zanele Mashinini and Ms. Aadila Amod were appointed as HWPL Publicity Ambassadors. He expressed that peace is very important and said that, “What the Chairman is doing for Africa, and the world, is a priceless gift. We need to get the world calm and achieve harmony and live in peace. If God has given us an individual who is taking this mammoth task, it’s not going to be easy. We know brokering peace is not easy.”
After declaring the Declaration of World Peace in Seoul, South Korea on May 25, 2013, Mr. Lee, together with Ms. Nam Hee Kim, the Chairwoman of International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) have been working fervently towards the enactment of drafting an article on convention on renunciation and cessation of war and international armed conflicts as well as the unity of religion. Transcending boundaries, races, and religions, these two peace activists are changing the course of history as they gather leaders and media around the globe for these two purposes.
The first HWPL Media Forum in SA in collaboration with SABC TV Religion is the first of many. It is expected to have a positive effect on peace building in South Africa, the African Continent as well as the entire world.

Ghana, Interreligious Dialogue Opened The Door To Peace

<b></b>

[Ghana Accra] The HWPL World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office Meeting co-hosted by Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) and Ghana Islamic University was held in Accra on July 31st 2015. It was the very first meeting in Ghana meanwhile the HWPL WARP Office, which has been established globally with 85 offices in 51 countries, will also be held in many parts of the world.

With the topic - “How come did peace disappear?”, religious leaders from Islam, Protestantism, Sikhism, and indigenous religions in Ghana discussed and shared their opinions. Rev. Samuel Asiedu-Amoako as a representative of Catholic said “If any religion does not bring peace to ourselves and around us, then we are on the wrong path. And that path is not the path of any religion, but the path of evil, anarchy and destruction.”.

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (“HWPL”) is a non-profit international peace organization that has conducted peace movement enthusiastically and systematically in the world. HWPL hosted World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Summit in September, 2014 and this year established WARP Peace office with international cooperation.

Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace Restoration of Light proclaimed, “We should bring cessation of religious war and be united in one true religion”. Accordingly, the HWPL Peace Office provided a neutral platform for the religious leaders to accomplish world peace.

The Republic of Ghana has long history for peace and freedom. Through the struggles and political upheaval, the first Ghanaian Republic was established in 1960. However still they face many daunting tasks ahead for democracy and liberty. At this present, HWPL have suggested a solution with the case of Mindanao, Philippines.

The island of Mindanao, located in the southern Philippines, was a region full of painful cries and gunshots due to its 40-year war between the government and the Moro-Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The victims were more than 150 thousand civilians so it was one of the most dangerous areas in Asia. However Man Hee Lee, chairman of HWPL, led the signing of a peace agreement in Jan 2014 between the Islam leader and the Catholic leader in Mindanao, which was the nation’s first interreligious agreement. As a continuation of the waves of peace, a peace agreement was also signed between the government and rebels. Mindanao’s promise to cease fire and unite in peace delivered hope to the international community.

After the peace agreement, last June the MILF decided to turn in the weapons voluntarily to accelerate the implement of peace. The president of the Philippines Benigno S. Aquino said, “It was far beyond our expectations to see the disarmament of longtime opponent against this government” that underlined the key role of HWPL for the peace process.

HWPL’s footsteps toward peace reached Ghana, which attracted a great amount of attention on the results of the first HWPL WARP Office meeting and HWPL’s peace works to come.

Cameroonian women gather to lay the foundations

Batibo, Cameroon – Women political and religious leaders in the region of Batibo, Cameroon participated in the conference for peace-building hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) commemorating International Women’s Day on March 8th.

These women representatives have gathered at Batibo Council, located in the heart of Batibo city, with great interest of the local people in learning the peace movement of the i
rnational peace groups, HWPL and International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG). They discussed the effective ways to gather and strengthen women’s power in achieving peace.

Every year, Cameroonian women have participated in street march in order to widen the role of women in their society and particularly, for this meeting, participants had an in-depth discussion about what women can and should do to fight against the widespread violent acts of terrorism and religious conflicts.

Cameroon want peace

Recently, Boko Haram extremists, the Sunni Islamist armed group, have greatly threatened the lives of civilians by killing thousands and displaced over 1.5 million people. Cameroonian women and children are being kidnapped and forced to join to fight against people of neighboring countries and the towns and villages are burned and damaged. Cameroonian religious leaders pointed out that the religious misunderstanding is the main reason of this ongoing war and the leaders should speak up for their people to alleviate and eventually stop it. Women whose children were lost in this brutal conflict shared their grief and gathered together to speak out for their loved ones.

IWPG rallies holding Religious Scriptures

The first gathering of this peace dialogue on the international women’s day was co-organized by the mayor of Batibo city and CAMMAY, a youth organization. Mrs. Nam Hee Kim, chairwoman of IWPG, has conveyed the message of peace to women all over the world: “We have to be the women leaders at the forefront with a sense of ownership to keep peace with the heart of mothers to protect our children." Patric, the executive director of CAMMAY expressed how he planned this meeting in the hope of bringing pace to Cameroon. The participants also pledged to join HWPL and IWPG, marking the beginning of the peace movement by Cameroonian women leaders,

Working through worldwide branch offices to reach out every community, HWPL has been actively working to bring alliance of nations, religions, and cultures to cease all wars. HWPL has suggested two solutions for women leaders in Cameroon: supporting an enactment of international laws for cessation of wars and establishing an alliance of religions’ office to deepen the inter-religious understandings, thus end the current religious dispute. Last September, Mr. Man Hee Lee of HWPL hosted the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit, the largest gathering attended by numerous leaders and civilians from all around the world. Rooted in this summit, the Alliance of Religions’ Peace Offices are being found including but not limited in New York, Australia, Germany, Philippines, Mexico, El Salvador, and Kyrgyzstan. Such interfaith dialogue sessions and gatherings of religious and secular leaders from various faiths and fields at the HWPL branch offices are paving the way for the unity of religions and sustainable peace.

International Peace Advocate Mr Lee Visits Japan

On the 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II, South Korean peace advocate and Chairman of Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) Mr. Man Hee Lee made a 3-day visit to Japan, following his visit to China. Amongst the topics of discussion during his meetings with Chinese and Japanese leaders were the recent territorial disputes within Asia and the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
While in China, Mr. Lee was awarded the ‘Peace Advocate of World Peace’ award from the Vice President of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Zhang Meiying.
Addressing women’s groups, youth groups, cultural and religious leaders in Japan, Chairman Lee spoke on the theme of The Source to Achieve World Peace.
“If each nation’s heads and leaders desire for world peace and love their people, they should sign the cessation of war into international law and sign the peace agreement, affirming that they will cooperate to achieve peace” said Chairman Lee. Following the speech, the peace agreement was unanimously signed by attending leaders.

Nearly the end of the meetings with leaders, Pema Gyalpo, the professor of law in Toin University of Yokohama, who is also known as the founder of GIFT (Global Issues Forum) rushed to meet Mr. Man Hee Lee after his trip from India. He showed respect to Mr. Lee for his diligent work for peace and shared many common grounds with him as a veteran himself. After their conversation, the professor suggested to act as advisor for the international law that the Chairman is pursuing. He also decided to sign the peace agreement and agreed to participate ‘World Alliance of Religions: Peace Summit 2014’ hosted by HWPL on this coming September.
Furthermore, Chairman Lee also met with the International Buddhist Congregation (IBC) in Japan. Among the topics addressed during their meeting was the critical role of religion. He also spoke on the importance of the peace agreement as a commitment to continue mutual cooperation for peace, “Practical evidence is necessary such as the peace agreement of Mindanao Island” said Chairman Lee. Afterwards, the Chairwoman of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Nam Hee Kim emphasized the need for international cooperation through cultural events and meetings. She addressed young women leaders, calling them to actively work for peace.
Last January, Mr. Lee mediated a peace agreement in the war-torn region of Mindanao, Philippines, where regional religious tension between Catholics and Muslims has led to over 10,000 casualties. Working with the citizens of the Philippine city Zamboanga, Chairman Lee organized a Peace Walk that gathered over 12,000 participants—a bold proclamation that world peace is possible.
Mr. Lee is now currently on his 14th world tour, having visited 54 countries. Media stations like Korea Today, Asia News Agency and Dongyang Economic News documented and broadcasted the news of Mr. Lee’s Northeast Asia visit.

UK, from culture capital of the world to capital of peace

To realise the true teaching of religion, cease conflicts caused by religions and build a peaceful world, the UK branch of Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman Man Hee Lee) held the third religious scripture dialogue under the theme of ‘Angels & Demons’ on July 8th, 2015.

Starting from March 26th, this year, it is the third dialogue that the UK branch of HWPL has hosted. This time, it was held in the historical setting of Conway Hall, London which is possibly the oldest surviving free thought organisation in the world.

Religious Leaders who participated included Muslim leader and Officer of the Order of the British Empire, Seyed Yousif Al Khoei OBE, Buddhist monk Phramaha Bhatsakorn Piyobhaso, Dr. Tanaji Acharya representing Hinduism, a Sikh educationalist Mr. Jagmeet Singh, and Christian scholar Mr. Justin Brand. As participants of the first and second Scripture Dialogues, Seyed Yousif Al Khoei OBE and Phramaha Bhatsakorn Piyobhaso took an active part in the dialogue, showing the significance of the dialogue.

Each representative proclaimed the necessity of peace which needs to be fulfilled in the shaking world, including the UK, due to religious extremism. They also testified that every scripture is exclaiming about making peace, and they demonstrated that the correct understanding of scriptures is the key solution to many terrors related to religions.

One member of the audience, Adam Harvey, a student from Imperial College London, commented “All the war and conflict between religions that has arisen in the past and is still going on today, I know that it was because those people didn’t understand the true meaning of religion. It is amazing to see different religions together in harmony. I believe through these HWPL dialogues all religions can be united and an end to war can actually be achieved.”

Religious leaders presented on the topic of good, and evil in order to tackle the root cause of why there is evil in today’s world and spiritually what the source of evil is. The highly debated subject of whether God created evil provided a new perspective regarding good and evil spirits. Moreover some of the discussion examined what makes a person good or evil, and subsequently the reason why some people are led to peace whereas some are led to cause disruption and war.

War and destruction

Remembers the fateful attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki....

View of ground zero in Hiroshima showing total destruction

On August 6, 1945, the US dropped the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima in Japan. More than 140,000 people died in the devastating blast which killed, maimed and traumatized civilians in the city for decades to come. Three days later, the Americans dropped a second bomb on Nagasaki that killed about 40,000 more and left a trail of destruction in its wake.

The cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki became known for cancers, premature births and malformed babies. Survivors of the bombing and their families were shunned; the effects of the bomb blast outlived its survivors. This week the world remembers the fateful attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki which changed the world forever.

The Chairman of HWPL, Man Hee Lee,  said in his Declaration of the World Peace speech
"what price can compensate for the loss of a life?"  HWPL amd Mr. Man hee Lee advocate world peace through youth engagement, women's empowerment,  community building, leaders coalition,  and inter religions activities. There should not be a one life lost for meaningless war again.

Moro-Islamic Liberation Force (MILF) Starts Deactivating its armed forces

Moro-Islamic Liberation Force (MILF) Starts Deactivating its armed forces: Actual Peace Building Process Begins
In June 2015, 145 soldiers of Moro-Islamic Liberation Force (‘MILF’) were successfully decommissioned and began their process of integrating back into the society, from the lives of soldiers regularly facing life-and-death situations to the lives of realizing their potentials as youths. First batches of weapons were handed over to the government as a part of peace-building process. Philippines and the rest of the world now dearly await for the Bangsamore Basic Law to be enacted for the MILF to live harmoniously with the people.
Chairman Lee of HWPL, together with Chairwoman Kim of IWPG and the peace delegation, visited Philippines for the fifth time upon the special invitation from Hon. Esmael Toto Mangudadatu, governor of Maguindanao Province. At the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace held in the Province, the two Chairpersons delivered momentous speeches on peace and unity and congratulated the day of the signing of the Mindanao Peace Agreement back in January 2014. The agreement brought a cease-fire of a 40-year conflict in Mindanao and indirectly influenced the final decision of decommissioning of MILF members. Supreme Court Justice Sheikh Khalifa B. Nando of MILF also gave a thoughtful speech especially to thank Chairman Lee for his tremendous efforts to bring peace in the region. In his speech, he referred Chairman Lee as ‘our friend in the name of peace’ and ‘unsung hero’ who has made this peace-talk possible. This splendid achievement through partnership and cooperation will continue to serve to bring forth peace not only in the Philippines but in the entire world.

Peace

HWPL and their members have been showing the world how much they love the peace through the organizing WARP Summit, inter religions dialects, and various other  peace activities around the world.  They are the rue entities of what Matin Luther King Jr. said many years ago.

Peru families receive bodies of dirty war victims

The small farmers came from remote mountains and jungle valleys to receive the exhumed remains of loved ones slain three decades ago during Peru's dirty war.

Hundreds arrived in the Ayacucho state capital for Monday's handover of 80 sets of remains. Simple white coffins bore the bones of fathers, mothers, wives, children and brothers.
Some were slain by Shining Path rebels. Others were killed by soldiers, accused of collaborating with the guerrillas.

Who will condensate for the lost life?  Chairman of HWPL, Man Hee Lee, said in his Declaration of the World Peace statement "Of what use is a young life, born in our day and age, if it is thrown away in this manner - thrown away without having had a chance to bloom?"   "What price can compensate for the loss of a life? Do these young souls have another chance at life?"

One life lost in the war and conflict is too many!  We need an international law that prevent anyone, country to declaring war against  another individual or a country.

Greetings from Mr. Man Hee Lee, chairman of peace organization HWPL

Greetings
Greetings to you from all of us here at the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light ("HWPL") headquarters in Seoul. We sincerely hope that you, your loved ones, and the people you share your world with are enjoying peace and good health.

HWPL is an international organization whose mandate it is to see the cessation of wars. It pursues this goal through a number of avenues, namely the International Peace Youth Group ("IPYG"), and the International Women’s Peace Group ("IWPG"). Our work is motivated by a unique vision for peace centering on the establishment of a new and universally applicable set of values. This is the heavenly culture - something which has been promised to man through every religious and ideological ideal.

Our World Peace Delegation, made up of myself as chairman of HWPL, and the directors of IPYG and IWPG, have been traveling around the world meeting with various national and community leaders in both secular and religious fields. During these meetings we have had the pleasure of being able to introduce the philosophy of HWPL to them. Without fail, every leader we have spoken with has pledged themselves in support of our cause, demonstrating their desire to be a part of HWPL’s work through a signed agreement of solidarity.

Most notably, HWPL was proud to play its part in the signing of an interfaith peace agreement between two religious communities on the Philippine island of Mindanao. As a result, a 40 year conflict is now finally coming to an end. This, along with all our other volunteer activities and events are widely broadcast by media all over the world. And these things are just the beginning. With a peace agreement being reached such as the one between the two religious communities in Mindanao, we believe that the world is seeing the dawning of a new era of peace, one which sees a World Alliance of Religions.

Such an alliance of ideologies which until now have been central to an untold number of conflicts would enable us to leave a legacy of peace and life to future generations instead of the death and war which now besets our world. Is this not the most important task any of us can accomplish in our lives?

This is the time for us to come together and unite as one family of humanity; to lay aside our differences, and find ways to bridge the rifts between our ideologies. Regardless of our personal views on the matter, religion is a powerful motivating force in our world. Its power to be used for either peace or hate-mongering is undeniable. I humbly ask you, therefore, to consider this invitation favorably, and to join us for the Summit. Your input would be most valuable to all who attend.

May we all stand together as messengers of peace, and see the dawning of a day in which there is no more war.

Thank you.
